Probationary Membership Requirements
Application and Initial Interview
Probationary Membership Requirements are for ALL Station 857 MC applicants both Primary members and Sponsored members.
1. The person who wishes to join Fire & Iron Station 857 MC should let their intentions be known by filling out an application. The application should then be turned into the President or Secretary of Station 857 MC.
2. Once the person has sent in their application and application fee ($100.00), that person will have an interview with the President of Station 857 or an Officer assigned by the President.
3. Once interviewed by the President and or Officer of Station 857, and the application has been accepted and approved for probationary status. The person can begin to associate with Station 857 MC by attending Station 857 functions. Within 3 months, the membership will vote at a meeting whether to assign the applicant the status of "probationary member".
This will take an unanimous decision/vote of the membership present at a regular meeting.
4. Once the applicant is accepted as a "probationary member" they will be considered a "Probie". Their $100.00 application fee WILL NOT be reimbursed at this point.
5. At no time, will the Probie be guaranteed by any Station 857 MC member that they will become a full member after a certain period of time.
PROBATIONARY PERIOD
1. Once accepted as a Probationary member, the Probie will be issued a Station 857 title patch to be worn on the left hand breast of their vest, and a bottom Station 857 rocker to be wear on the back of their vest. Nothing else will be worn on the Station 857 "Colors" vest.
2. The minimum probationary period will be at least six (6) months of the riding season, and in some cases longer.
3. Probationary members (Probies) can attend Station 857 regular meetings and all Station 857 functions (unless otherwise advised). There may be times a Probie may be asked not to attend a meeting (that is at the discretion of Station 857 MC Officers). Probationary members CAN NOT vote on any Station 857 MC issues until being accepted as a full member.
4. It is the responsibility and understanding of ALL probationary members to attend a majority of ALL of Station 857 MC functions/events/meetings. A lack of interest, or a lack of attendance, at a majority of Station 857 MC functions/events/meetings. May result in losing your probationary status with Station 857 MC at any time during your probationary period.
5. Any disrespect or dishonor toward any Station 857 member will result in the probationary member losing their status immediately.
6. Applicants falling under the "Sponsored" category of Fire & Iron membership, your sponsor will be notified of any infraction's that may occur during your probationary period.
7. Probationary members are encouraged to get a mentor/sponsor within Station 857 MC to understand and assist you with understanding what a Motorcycle Club is all about.
8. Probationary members MUST read and understand thoroughly, all Fire & Iron National and Station 857 MC By-Laws.
9. Probationary members will not be asked to unwilling participate in any activity, which will infringe on their personal life and dignity.
10. After at least six (6) months if the membership feels the probationary member is ready for a vote to be accepted as a full-patched member. The probationary member will be asked to leave the meeting and a vote can be taken. It will take a unanimous decision/vote by the membership present at the meeting for the probationary member to become a full-patched member. Any disapproval's will result in the probationary member not being accepted as a full-patched member.
11. If after twelve (12) months the Probationary member is not voted in as a full- patched member. The general membership can vote to terminate the probationary status of the member, or vote to continue their Probationary period until the membership decides to hold another vote.
